well since psychology intrigues me, im gna be sharing some information and interesting details on selected topics n issues concerning the human mind and behaviour that may be interesting to some of you but rather boring and dry to others.In any case, it fascinates me so here goes...
Personality psychology
Personality type refers to the psychological classification of different types of people.Personality types are different from personality traits, which come in different levels or degrees.according to type theories,for example,there are two types of people,introverts and extraverts.according to trait theories,introversion and extraversion are part of continuos dimension with many people in the middle.So have you figured out which level are u in?Most likely,you will be part and parcel of the middle ones.
Psychology of love
Psychologists depict love as a cognitive and social phenomenon.A triangular theory of love was formulated by a fellow psychologist whereby even if i tell u his name it would be highly doubtful tht u wld have ever heard of him.haha.anyway,his triangular theory of loveargued that love has three different components.Wanna know what??Intimacy, commitment and passion.
Intimacy is a form in which two people can share their secrets and various details of their personal lives.intimacy is usually shown in friendships and romantic love affairs.So people out there,dun have a narrow mind yea?intimacy doesnt have to always go under the "sexual" arena.
Being intimate with frens just mean that u are able to share ur secrets n personal lives with them.Interesting huh?!
commitment on the other hand is the expectation that the relationship is gna lst forever.
The last and most common form of love is sexual attraction and passion.passionate love is shown in infatuation as well as romantic love.This led researches to furthur refine the model by separating passion into two independent components:Erotic passion and romantic passion.which im sure is something very interesting to go into depth,but i shall not for now untill i have done more reading and understanding of my own.
Following developments in electrical theories , sucha s coulombs law,girls im sure u know this..which showed that postive and negative charges attract,analogs in human life,were developed such as "opposite attracts".Over the last century, research on the nature of human mating agress that pairs unite or attract to each other owing to a combination of opposites attract,eg people with disimilar immune systemtend to attract,and likes attract such as personalities,characters,views etc.In recent years, various human bonding theories have been developed described in terms of attachments,bonds,ties or affiinities.
Some western authorities disaggregate into two main components,the altruistic and narcisistic.
Another known psychologist..scott peck maintains that love is a combination of the "concern for the spiritual growth of another" and simple narcissism.hmmm...leaves me wondering..
In combination, love is an activity,not simply a feeling.
